For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life - John 3:16
'Prophecy is foretelling an event in such detail before it happens so as to necessarily require divine guidance. The Bible is a book containing hundreds of detailed prophecies. There are, for example, well over 60 distinct predictions in regard to our divine Saviour Jesus Christ. Not only were the predictions made 1000 years before Christ came from heaven to earth, but they were made over 500 years before crucifixion was first used anywhere in the world as a form of capital punishment! Crucifixion didn't exist when the prophecies were made.'
Prophecies being fulfilled shows the divinity of the bible, the people who wrote the bible really were supernaturally inspired by God - prophecies prove this!

There were two occasions on which Jesus foretold the destruction of Jerusalem that would occur in 70 A.D.
'Jesus
left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 'Do you see all these things?' he asked. 'I tell you the truth, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down'" (Matt.24:1-8).
See also Lk.21:5-6.
As soon as the walls were breached on the 9th of Ab in 70 A.D., a Roman military force of about 30,000 troops under the command of Titus marched into Jerusalem
and began a systematic slaughter of the Jews and the destruction of the Temple and Jerusalem - exactly as Jesus foretold 40 years earlier.
The Romans brutally slaughtered an
estimated 600,000 people in Jerusalem including many of the Passover visitors who had been trapped there for the 143 days during the Roman siege.

- 'But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.' - 2 Timothy 3-5
- Mankind would be capable of destroying all life (Matthew 24:21-22)
- Knowledge would increase (Daniel 12:4)
