Jesus' second coming

Jesus said, "But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" - Mark 13:32

"But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare" - 2 Peter 3:10

Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains."

“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." - Matthew 24:3-14

What will happen in the last days?

• There will be false Christs
• Wars and rumours of wars
• Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom
• Famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world
• Christians will be arrested, persecuted and killed
• Christians will be hated all over the world because they follow Jesus
• Many will turn from their faith and betray and hate each other
• Sin will be rampant everwhere
• The love of many will grow cold
• The Good News will be preached throughout the whole world
• There will be greater anguish than at any time since the world began. And it will never be so great again.
• It will be shortened for the sake of God's chosen ones
• False Messiah's and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to decieve, if possible, even God's chosen ones.
• For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
• Immediately after the anguish of those days the sun will be darkened, the moon will give no light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
• As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

It is God's will for everyone to be saved

"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." - Peter 3:8-9

'...who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.' - 1 Timothy 2:4
